We look at Greenhouse Gas Emissions using 3 key scopes:
- Direct Emissions: Activities owned or controlled by your organisation that release emissions straight into the atmosphere. For example: emissions from combustion through boilers or vehicles. Examples of changes: switching to an electric vehicle fleet or to an air heat pump system.
- Energy Indirect: Emissions being released into the atmosphere which are associated with the consumption of purchased electricity, heat, steam & cooling. These are emissions that occur as a consequence of your organisation's activities, but which you do not own or control. For example: electricity purchased from the National Grid or third party. Example of change: solar panels to power your organisation.
- Other Indirect: Emissions that occur as a consequence of your activities , at sources which you do not own & control, which are other than those in Scope 2. For example: commuting by non-fleet cars, emissions from contractors, supply chain procurement & waste management controls & recovery. We can help you look at changes for each of these.
